Transmission hesitates when downshifting, especially in sport mode
I've got a 2016 BMW 340i with the ZF 8-speed. Lately I've noticed that when I'm in sport mode and slowing down to a stop, the downshift from 3rd to 2nd feels delayed and then it clunks into gear. In comfort mode it's barely noticeable. The car has 110k km and I'm not sure if the transmission fluid has ever been changed. I've read conflicting things about whether the ZF 8HP is sealed for life or needs service every 80k. I want to get a Specialist Transmission Service that can do a fluid and filter change and then re-adapt the transmission. Has anyone here had delayed or harsh downshifts on the 8-speed and fixed it with just a fluid service? Also wondering if a mechatronic sleeve leak could cause these symptoms. The car drives fine otherwise and no warning lights. Any advice on what to do first or a good shop in Abu Dhabi would be great. Thanks.
