Bethany offers a program of confirmation instruction that's designed to teach 7th and 8th grade students the chief teachings of the Christian faith from our Lutheran perspective. Students learn about the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Confession and Forgiveness, Christian Stewardship, Sanctification, Christian Worship, the Lutheran Reformation, and other topics. In addition, 8th graders join with 4th graders in the spring of the year to participate in a Passover Seder service configured to enhance the Christian understanding of the Jewish festival that Jesus commemorated with His disciples.

Adult Bible Study

Bethany will be offering several courses from the Crossways Series by Harry Wendt in 2009. First up will be The Road To Coronation, a six-week course running on Saturday mornings during Lent from February 28 to April 4. Each class will begin at 9:00 am and run aprox 60-75 minutes, with participants being asked to contribute $8.00 to offset the cost of materials. The course examines the four distinct Passion narratives as found in each of the Gospels.
